SEE ECOUPLED IN ACTION
See eCoupled's wireless countertop in action at the Smart Home: Green + Wired exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. The Smart Home is Chicago’s Greenest Home–a three-story, fully-functioning and eco-friendly home, filled with unique technologies for the 21st century.
The 2010 exhibit–with a redesigned interior courtesy of Midwest Living and hot tech products chosen by technology partner WIRED magazine–emphasizes great spaces for entertaining, a kitchen counter top enabled with eCoupled technology, a master bedroom that serves as a retreat, a whimsical nursery/playroom, a functional home office and a gadget-friendly garage–all of which keep in mind natural elements and harmony with the earth.
Smart Home: Green + Wired is a must-see exhibit for anyone who wants their home, and life, to be smarter, more efficient and more in tune with the environment than it is today.

WHY ECOUPLED TECHNOLOGY IN A GREEN HOME?
eCoupled technology enables safe and convenient use of wireless power thanks to sophisticated communication protocols that allow devices and power sources to actively communicate in real time. It determines a device’s exact power needs and knows when to supply power and when to shut off. This intelligence makes eCoupled technology a green solution, because it eliminates wasteful vampire power that stays on even when a device isn’t drawing power.
eCoupled technology also offers new levels of innovation in design by not requiring engineers and designers to account for power cords and bulky transformers. This flexibility now allows for efficient use of charging solutions and more environmentally sensitive design material choices, eliminating large amounts of landfill waste from unnecessary adapters and plugs.
Additionally, eCoupled technology offers designers flexibility through interoperability, creating opportunities for universal power solutions (instead of having different and unique chargers for each device) such as the Qi Standard being developed by the Wireless Power Consortium, again eliminating substantial amounts of manufacturing and consumer waste.
